Once again thanx for Your statements.
Well, it makes me sad, 'cause I hope to make sommit on the comp.
Now I'm not sure what to do.
Maybe wait until my friend adds the resistor on the RCA output...?
I'm going to talk with him anyway.
Greetz,
Yerzmyey

505: Yep it's weird, but it is things like that that makes the STE so charming =)

yerzmey, frazer, 505:

probably a impedance adaptation problem...
maybe try with a resistor on the RCA output, to load the amplifier a bit more?
but it is really strange, every ste i've seen worked ok with an amplifier, there were just little noizes when the floppy was reading/writing...

yerzmey & frazer:

oh.. yeah.. its the same on my ste :) and i dont know where it comes from
as well. but it works ok on the ste-monitor - the problem only appears when
i connect the ste-output to an amplifier. the weird thing is, that if i use headphones
in the amplifier, i can hear nothing wrong in them. if i pull them out the amplifier
makes this fucking noise.

weird weird..

Hello you all YM Rockerz...
Here is a new little tune I've just finished... "Atomic Packer":

http://damoiselleprecieuse.free.fr/bummtschakmp3s/Bummtschak-AtomicPacker.mp3

I've made it on my falcon, using Digital home studio, sid sound designer, voxx, ace tracker, st-speech, and an old analog Korg sigma for sound fx.
All sounds are 100% Bummtschak-made, no samples!

Just tell me what you think about it...

The last track ("Lotek Warrior") will be soon released on a 7" vinyl split, with a track from Puyo Puyo on the other side, on a German label called "polygame-entertainment":

Thanks for inspiration & keeping atari alive!!

Frazer:
Yes, it must be the same. :(
I've checked it out and it still doesn't work.
Sound-output (chinches) generates it. :(
Thx anyway,
Yerz

Know how you feel, had similar problems recently... I turned in my song"return of the..." as an assignment I had to do at a course at school. It sounded good when i listened to it on my monitor, but when I tried to sample the tune via the stereo-output ports on my STE, it was hevily distorted... I'm guessing that the dynamics of the STE RCA-ports doesn't have all that great dynamics... Or that something is wrong with my Atari :(

Thanx everybody for Your interest! :)
Well, I've checked out this trick with MIDI cables. Sadly - that's not it. Doesn't work.
But while I was testing YM ROCKERZ' second album from real comp, I noticed that more silent songs play well. Only the louder ones play with distortion. So it seems, it's fault of amplifier probably. (First song of the album is loud and there are distortions, but the second one is much more silent, and it worx OK).
Well, now I will have to get some longer audio cable and try to connect my ST to some other machines. We will see.
Thx again,
Yerz
