Hi U all !!
Why do all the atari XL tracks I hear over the net have a Stero picture ???
I'm talking about panning and stuff like that ... can you do all that on an XL ???
I wish I could do that on My STE ...

I shouldn't really suggest it, but i'm going to anyway....

Multiple steems running SSD/MM2, with virtual MIDI cables going to a MIDI sequencer.

The YM emulation of steem is kind of OK now, defaintely enough for background FX.

Crazy Q: no, it doesn't support midi clock :(at least version 3.5 doesn't).
as far as i know, it just has 1 midi channel which u can play extern (like musicmon).
so.. just one voice per atari :) but the force of that voice can give a very nice flavour, if you combine it with other not chippy sounding modules.

I would like very much to participate to the next disc... Can anybody tell me if there are some conditions/restrictions (for example: maximum file size, track time limit, deadline...)?

Hi Crazy Q!

Your problem is that you are using a vga monitor on your Falcon. The tempo of the chipsongs depends of the frequency of the monitor:
vga monitor: 60 Hz
rgb monitor (or tv): 50Hz

So the songs on your falcon are going 6/5 (=120 percent) faster... Anyway, you can convert your STE songs to SNDH format, and then they will be replayed at 50Hz (with the SND player), even on your Falcon.

I can't tell you if the sound is better on a STe, I' ve never tried SSD on it.

Bye

Rudi

Hello U all !!!
I finally got SSD work on my FALCON !!!
But I have one problem .... When I load songs made on my STE, the song is going faster ...
Do I have to change the Falcon clock speed to 8 mhz ???
I also think that the sound fron falcon is not as nice as on the STE ...
I'm I wrong ????
