Hi U Menace,

the P is the package suffix (stands for plastic DIP version) as far as I know.

I have seen the stock listing of this company as well, but they don´t seem to ship small qtty orders.
If you can get hold of a small number of chips (to test this idea first), please let me know!
BTW, all chip brokers that I found refer to the same world-wide stock (mostly in Asia).
All requests led to the same sources. All brokers don´t ship small quantities at reasonable prices (and I don´t think that 10 pcs. for €800,- is reasonable!). I tried partminer, cyclops, trading specialists, the company you found and some others...

I am very interested in the AY8930 idea and for anyone else interested I found this site that lists 2 versions of the 8930 http://www.cmbcomponents.com

Anyone know the significance of the "P" version?

MM2 Falcon follow up:

spoke to lotek last night and he assured me it worked fine with backwards not required. i therefore decided to try it one last time... and i got it working.

here is what I did:

* use the musicmon2 version available from DHS
* rename SYSTEM_1.DAT -> SYSTEM_1.000
* rename SYSTEM_1.030 -> SYSTEM_1.DAT
* boot with control key for clean system in ST LOW
* select another screen resolution
* go back into ST LOW
* MM2 runs perfectly

I dont know why the screen res toggling is required. It doesn't work if you select ST LOW directly, you need to select a different res, and then go back into ST LOW. This is weird, perhaps a TOS bug?

Lotek:

some time ago you said:

"Hey Bummtschak! Musicmon2 DOES work on Falcon. Atleast on mine. "

How did you achieve this? I tried the DHS version on my Falcon, without Backwards, and with Backwards3 in various configurations, and could not stop the bombs.

thanx man
